Joseph Land’s entrepreneurial journey began with a dream of playing professional baseball. Drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers, that path shifted after a career-ending injury. “I had a dream to play professional baseball but God had a greater plan—and a sense of humor. He put me in the transportation business.”

Joseph went on to build The Joseph Land Group, Inc., a temperature-controlled logistics company he scaled from the ground up into a $179 million in annual sales, with 1,500 trucks, 23 offices, and over 2,000 employees. The company was later ranked by PricewaterhouseCoopers as the 8th largest in its sector in North America and 18th largest company in South Carolina. 

After a successful exit in 1994, Joseph founded JL Capital Group. Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, JL Capital is now building America's leading small business investment funds with a team of 40+ professionals with over $6 billion in transaction experience.
